I won! Very very hard, hilly (steep0, big steps, slippy rocks, slippy stodgy mud, everything! I set off in the 2nd wave, but into the second lap there were only a few runners ahead. I didn't think they were from my wave so I thought I might be near the front. I pushed hard, and finally overtook the last person I could see in front about half a k from the end, and then ran frightened of being caught up. In the end I was 20-odd seconds faster than 2nd place.
No trophy, but a £30 running shop voucher - happy days
